Tatiana Kuleshova Biography

Born in 1979 in Moscow, Tatiana Kuleshova started her musical education at the age of six at the Gnesins Special Music School of Moscow where she studied with the famous and respected piano teacher, Irina Rodzevitch.

After her graduation in 1997, she attended the P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, studying under Associate Professor Alexander Mndoyants. In 2002, she graduated with a Master’s degree in Instrumental Music (Piano) as a Concert Performer, Chamber Music Artist, Accompanist and Teacher. She continued postgraduate studies at the Conservatory for two years under Professor Vera Gornostaeva, a pupil of the famous G. Neuhaus. During her student years, Ms. Kuleshova was a scholar of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation and the Russian Performing Arts Foundation.

She received Third Prize at the Fifth International Piano Competition in Andorra in 1999 and Third Prize at the Fifth International Russian Piano Music Competition in San Jose, CA in 2004. In 2003, Ms. Kuleshova debuted at Bolshoi Hall in a concert marking the one-hundredth anniversary of the birth of the great Russian pianist, Vladimir Horowitz.

Ms. Kuleshova frequently performs in Russia, Spain, Italy, France, Australia and the United States, participating in both classical and jazz music festivals. In 2003 and 2004, she appeared at the famous Ars Longa Music Festival. Her extensive repertoire includes works from different epochs, from Baroque to contemporary to jazz, as well as a large variety of music for chamber ensemble, and vocal and instrumental duos.

She also performs duo piano recitals with Valery Kuleshov, currently featuring works by Mozart (Sonata for Two Pianos in D major, KV 448), Rachmaninov (Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, Op. 17), and Prokofiev, arranged by Mikhail Pletnev, (Suite from Cinderella for Two Pianos).
